Book Illustrations

I have been asked over the years to illustrate several books and book covers. My first one was called Phoenix House written by my good friend Carenza Hayhoe. She asked me to create a book cover watercolour as well as chapter headings and several full page ink drawings to go inside. This was quite an undertaking work wise and took a lot of time come up with the ideas for each chapter and to create all the drawings.

Wealden Hill book cover

Soon after this Graham Talboys commissioned me to create a cover for his book Wealden Hill which is a fantastic story.

Recently Carenza has been busy writing away in her shed and she has asked me again to illustrate her new book Willoughby’s Will which will be the first in a trilogy. Each book features a greyhound in the story and the first one also has a little tortoise shell cat called Mystery in it.

With all of these books I make sure I read the story first so I can get a real feel for what drawing would suit and I really enjoy the challenge. Carenza’s new book will be released soon and I will update you when this happens.
