Towards the end of last year I was invited to take part in a show at The Wingates Gallery in Leicester titled Independent’s Day. Obviously, this started to be arranged well before lock down and any of the issues and worries which have happened since.
As I have been able to continue to use my studio during these difficult times, I used the show to focus and managed to produce ten wonderful new pieces. I chose to use native birds and insects as the theme.
I have been working on different colour applications for my slips to see how and if I could brighten and lift the colours and I’m very pleased with the results.
The show starts on the 4th of July and the gallery has a fantastic online shop which is now live. There will be plenty of amazing art on display from many different makers from across the country.
See the Wingates Gallery website for more.
Opening times Monday to Saturdays 10am- 6pm
