For the last few months I have been in the studio creating a new collection of sgraffito pieces for my up and coming show with Cambridge Contemporary Art. It’s been a full three years since my last show and I feel that so much has happened!
I’m excited by the new work I have created. This is the first large exhibition show casing pieces created in a new technique I have been developing over the last couple of years.
This allows me to carve deeper, creating a really lovely 3D effect on my designs as well as the freedom to add coloured slips wherever I want them. My colours seem brighter and more vibrant and my choice of using marine life from tropical seas really shows this off well.
These two vessels will be on show for the first time. I have used several different swimming sea turtles on the first form and the other form has three amazing Weedy Sea Dragons swimming around the surface.
If your interested in coming to the show it runs from the 2nd of October until the 24th.
The gallery has a fantastic online shop so if you can’t make it you will be able to browse all of my pieces from the comfort of your home.
The gallery is open all week with a slightly shorter day on Sundays
