Back in 2019 I was asked to create what is probably my most challenging commission so far. A customer had already purchased my Lorikeets and flowering gum tree vessel shown below at an art fair. I was contacted by the John Noott Galleries and asked if I was able to make a second piece in the same size and form with a matching design on but in a mirror image.
This took a lot of thinking about and the first stage was to use Photoshop to flip the images I had of the original so I could make drawings and copy the design as much as possible. This made the process a lot easier but it was still very challenging. The final piece was a great success and the customer was very happy.
