Sgraffito workshop decorating a wall hanging Run by myself Tiffany Scull in my studio space at 31a Straits Easton Portland Dorset DT51HG You will part of a small group of 4 people for this exciting half day workshop which allows you to explore and experience the excitement of using sgraffito to decorate a small wall hanging. You do not need to have any experience with clay and you do not need to be able to draw. You will be asked to think about a design to bring with you, artwork dimentions will be sent to you via email. If you are not comfortable doing this you may create more of an abstract design or use one of my own designs. The leather hard wall hanging will be ready for you and I will walk you through how to create and use a handmade stencil and several different ways of using clay slips and sgraffito to decorate your wall hanging. There are 12 beautiful slip colours for you to choose from as well as different tools and needle applicators to use. You will be able to practice on several pieces of clay before working on your wall hanging which is 13cm across with a hole at the top for hanging. By the end of the workshop, you will have decorated a unique wall hanging. After the workshop I will have your wall hanging fired, glazed and ready for you to either collect in person or for £5 to be posted to you. This will take around a month and I will email you when its ready. All materials and time is included in the price of £60. The workshop lasts for 3.5 hours and held at my shop 31a Straits Portland Dorset DT51HG Please note parking outside my studio is limited to half an hour so please use the parking maps in the images on this page. Important information The minimum people needed for the workshop to run is 2 if I do not get enough bookings I will notify you and you will be able to book another session. Please arrive approximately 10 minutes before the workshop starts Over 16s only There is a small toilet on site There is no diabled access Please wear suitable shoes where your toes are covered In the colder months please wear warm clothing You will be using sharp tools please make sure you have glasses if you need to wear them and that your dextrous enough to hold small pencil like metal tools.
